Another warm day, another lunch in the park. Parisi Bakery makes the best overstuffed oversized enormous subs in the area. In addition to us locals, we often see police, firemen and construction workers at the family run shop. Considering the size of the sandwich, it's no wonder. We call this an Italian hoagie but it's also known as a grinder, submarine sandwich, hero or po'boy - depending on where you hail from.

Apparently, in some parts of, um, I think Westchester, or somewhere, so I've heard, these are also known as "wedges." A WEDGE! Weird name for a sandwich, but there ya go.
Anyway, this actually doesn't look overstuffed to me. It looks like a decent balance of innards and bread. (I hate when sandwiches are TOO stuffed, and this one looks just about right.)
Ah very good point, maybe overstuffed isn't the right word - maybe we should say oversized?
OK. I don't know. I just read that Yelp review you linked to (to get the address at Parisi), and they were saying it was HUGE. So maybe it's just the camera angle here. Hmm. Who knows. It still looks good regardless. I might have to head there for lunch tomorrow.
I guess it also depends on who makes your sandwich. The taller lady with glasses makes the biggest ones. The young guy made this one, and he always makes the smallest ones. So now aren't you intrigued? Tomorrow sounds like it should be a GREAT day for eating sandwiches in the park.
