Florent

We received an invitation from a friend to see some pretty wares in a place we had not yet been. And considering the imminent demise of an adjacent New York icon, it seemed like the perfect afternoon to go west for lunch. Florent is the original Meatpacking District pioneer, long long before trendiness took over. It continues to serve reasonably priced, "French" bistro-style meals in an super congenial diner setting. Things change, c'est la vie, but it's a sad day when Florent is forced out, not for lack of business (au contraire!), but because some greedy landlord decides to jack up the rent from $6k to $50k a month.
