Phi's doing some work for the NY Times lately, so I couldn't miss the chance to check out Renzo Piano's work. The space is more peaceful than I would have expected for a newspaper's headquarters. Clean lines with bright infusions of red bring a sort of timeless modernity to the interior. The food is typical cafeteria fare, very diverse but not particularly delicious, and not at all surprising. Perhaps the most fascinating thing about the building are the destination based dispatched elevators. Or maybe it's because of the timeliness of our current reading, The Intuitionist.
