There are many Chinatown restaurants offering congee (rice porridge) and normally on a humid summer day we wouldn't even think about about having some but at Congee they had the air cranked up so high we needed something hot. Congee is like every other Chinatown restaurant - the decor is cheesy and the staff abrupt and rude by American standards. We fully expected the food to be typical as well but the roast duck and meat ball congee turned out to be be good! The pork meat balls were smooth and tasty like fish cakes and the duck slices not too fatty. A pleasant surprise for lunch.
