It's the time of year for our now bi-annual lunch with Liz and Peter. In accordance with our usual fancy meal tradition, Peter picked Tabla. Although it is often billed as "Indian influenced", the dishes we selected off the prix fixe menu had a very subtle flavoring, barely perceptible. Everyone was happy with their meals but particularly notable were the hamachi (yellowtail) appetizer with small bits of fresh citrus, adding a lovely summer component to the dish, and the crab cakes which had a nice spiciness perfectly complemented by the creamy avocado underneath. All in all an entirely satisfying meal, both food and company.
