Online e-troductions are a lovely way to meet when they materialize into face-to-face luncheons between like-minded peeps, like our blind date lunch today with Erin and Owen who come to us via Judy. For the most part the table sticks to the Hoomoos Asli classic falafel sandwich until a last minute change of mind lands upon the shawarma entree, unintentionally repeating exactly the same lunch ordered yesterday! Only this is the Israeli version instead of Peruvian. Yesterday's is too be preferred although they're not really in the same ballpark for comparison.

I've eaten here a few times, but prefer Hummus Place on St. Marks Pl. The creamiest hummus and the best pitas. Shakshuka is a particular fav.

Ooh, we've been wanting to try this one for awhile. Another friend also swears by it.
I agree. The Humus Place is the best, they also just opened a place in the west village... and there is one on the UWS too...
I really love the Jerusalem Mix Grill at Hoomoos Asli. Try it sometime!
I loved ordering Jerusalem Mix Grill platters when we were in Israel, thanks for the recommendation - we'll definitely have to try it.
Hoomoos Asli is soo Much better than the hoomoos Place... My personal taste buds of how its really supposed to taste!!
