New friends Jenny and Guy joined us for lunch at La Esquina Cafe today where sadly we had to defend one of our favorite dishes, the ejotes (grilled string beans) when they came out rather sub-par. Tasting faintly of old fish fried in used oil, the beans themselves were not the freshest. On the other hand the hamburger, which we tried for the first time at Jim's insistence, was extremely good! Definitely not a traditional burger, the unique combination of toppings (something mayo, thin slivers of pickled, spicy jalepenos and avocado slices) make for delicious bite after bite.
