A woman named Paige wrote us recently, inviting us to try the new eat-in component of Spoon, called tbsp. Never ones to turn down a free meal, we eagerly accepted. And boy were the results pleasing. Every lunch spot should offer a boxed entree meal. It may seem indulgent to have a full-on entree for lunch but when it's offered for under $10, it's a good deal. We had a serving of roast pork slices, mushroom bread pudding and farm roasted turnips along with a steak sandwich. Aside from minor temperature issues related to pre-prepared foods (entree not hot enough, sandwich too cold), we thoroughly enjoyed everything. Their mission of providing freshly produced, farm supplied meals shines through, even in the pre-prepared foods. Well worth the field trip!

Wow!!! I've never had savory bread pudding before, is it the same consistency as the dessert kind?
This not only looks good, but you can have the satisfaction of eating a responsibly farmed and transported meal.
After reading "The Omnivore's Dilemma," I have become aware of these issues. I imagine it makes a meal even more satisfying.
But first and foremost, it looks really delicious... not to mention hearty and filling!
MT- This particular savory bread pudding was a bit drier than sweet ones but oh so good.
A- Yes it is really nice to have a meal that is responsible AND delicious. If only all meals could achieve both goals.
