A total cultural displacement, lunch at Jobee's has that strange transporting effect of making us all, Ray included, feel like we were not quite in NYC. Something about the utter lack of ambient noise, the abrupt and offhand service and of course the uncommon Taiwanese dishes. It's a slow, lazy place as if no one had anywhere particular to be, including our waitress. Today we tried some chicken vegetable mixture wrapped in tofu skin (yum), the five layer pork over rice (so good) and an odd moo shu vegetable pancake thing (interesting).
