It's not possible to compete with M's remote post from Tokyo earlier, especially when you see the set of images she uploaded. Not that I thought The Standard Grill could compare, no matter the pedigree. To top it off, the strip steak I split with Tam was neither hot off the grill nor rare like ordered. At least the taste was decent and I quite liked the not-quite shoestring fries. The weather was perfect for outdoor dining, with a view of a steady stream of Escalades dropping off, picking up, dropping off, picking up.
