It's a lunch lady's birthday today and to celebrate, I decided to take the agony of decision making out of the birthday celebrant's hands. In the grand tradition of Harvest birthdays, everyone in the office was invited to join us, Chinese family style at Congee Village. It's not entirely straightforward to order for 2 non-seafood eating vegetarians, 3 fish eating vegetarians and 5 meat eaters, but we managed nonetheless. In no small part due to Congee Village's willingness to make beef chow fun without the beef. It was a good lunch. The house chicken was particularly succulent today, the salty squid delicious and vegetarian accompaniments of fried tofu and snow pea leaves hit the spot.
