We were headed out for a pollo rostizado torta, which has been lingering in our heads for weeks now but then, as we hit the stairwell, the memory of the scent of Dominican roast pork overwhelmed us. I wish we had a Taza de Oro down here, and maybe there is and we don't know yet. We love the Conquista but they don't really have any tables for a cozy lunch out. Today they also had none of our usual favorite order, instead we improvised with a heaping platter of white rice, red beans and stewed salami. Delicious if you love salami, overpowering if you don't. Strangely it reminded us of Eastern European kielbasa, without the potatoes.
