Nyonya

We couldn't bring ourselves to walk very far today, the damp, chilly air is seeping right into my bones. We actually thought we could make it as far as the Bowery for some congee but ended up at Nyonya instead. The thought of typical Chinatown bright fluorescent lighting was too intimidating and we sighed in relief at the dim lighting and dark wood panels at Nyonya. It was a natural gravitation towards piping hot chicken soups, a clay pot of pearl noodles and the chef's special shredded chicken. We left feeling a little more restored to life.

Would you mind sharing the exact menu items? There's too many pearl noodles and clay pots on the menu for me to figure it out, and I always have lousy luck with Nyonya. You pic makes it look yummy.

It's in the "noodle in soup" section.
Clay Pot Pearl Noodle Soup (pictured) and the other one I don't see, but it was one of the first ones on the menu and said something like the chef's famous something or other in the description. The Hainanese Chicken and Roti Canai, Mee Goreng are pretty good too. Good Luck.

Thank you, thank you! I love a good pearl noodle. Love your blog too, and it comes in handy as I'm also in the 'hood (on Elizabeth and Grand).
