I've actually never eaten here for lunch, but since I was walking by, decided to pick up a little dessert. One of my favorite Chinese bakery items, the egg custard tart. I have to say I've had better, but can't complain too much for 90 cents. If you guys have a recommendation, please let me know!!!

I don't have a fave but you can try Lung Moon Bakery on Mulberry or New Wing Wah Bakery on Grand.
Thanks Gordon! Will definitely give those a try.
I can't remember what it's called but there's a tiny little bakery on Grand b/w Mott and Elizabeth with a gold-lettered green awning... just a display counter on the left, other breads and pastries on shelves on the right. Delicious $0.60 egg custard tarts.
I think the bakery you are talking about is Kwong Wah Cake Co. between Mott and Elizabeth on Grand. It looks unprepossessing, but once you get past that weathered awning some wonderful treats await!
Thanks guys, will definitely report back - or shall we conduct a taste-off?
