When I was at New Kam Hing the other afternoon, there was something about these cookies that made me reach out for them. Sheer curiosity perhaps. They taste as if they take the left over batter from the sponge cake, add some additional flour, and then bake them as cookies. Not bad, not great. They taste like they might be missing a bit of fat content and thus a bit dry. They could almost be addictive, but are not. Reminds me a bit of Stella D'oro, only if they were Chinese.
