Of course we had tacos to celebrate Cinco de Mayo! But here is what I learned today, Cinco de Mayo is just as American as it is Mexican. It in fact it's a celebration of the freedoms won in our Civil War. It stems from the victory of the Mexican army over the French at the Battle of Puebla, which in turn contributed the a decisive turning point and ending to the Civil War. We and John were not the only ones to use the 5th of May as an excuse to indulge in Mexican food, Pinche Taquera was crazy with orders and pickups earlier today.

Pinche Taqueria was established in 1973 on a tiny street in Tijuana. Since then locals have made Pinche one of the busiest taquerias in all of Mexico.
