Lunch today was inspired by Kathy, since we hadn't sat down for a proper meal in a long while. And now that the SE office is a couple blocks away, Robyn often joins in on group lunches, always with a nice friend or two in tow. We split 2 pizzas and a salad; I was surprised by the mixed salad at Rubirosa, very nicely balanced. Pizza was the perfect accompaniment for discussing the merits of eating with a knife and fork, as the French are prone to do, versus with our bare hands, as we uncivilized Americans can prefer.

I advocate a hybrid: I eat the first (pointy) half with knife & fork, then pick up and attack the crust (along with about an inch of cheese/sauce) with my bare hands.
I have seen people do the "fold-over" but that doesn't appeal to me at all.
Yes! I agree with you, start with knife & fork, end with hands. The fold-over seems like it doesn't allow for as much enjoyment of individual toppings, everything gets squished.
Glad we see eye-to-eye on this crucial issue. And I am still enjoying the blog. Keep up the wonderful photography... Thanks for my vicarious short trips to NYC.
