I'm confused if it's gateau lorrain or lorraine, but neither of us were confused on wanting something tart like strawberries or raspberries to accompany this sweet French dessert from FPB.

I was just thinking of ordering this for my husband's birthday party from them. Do you think it's underwhelming and too sweet, hence the wish for a tart accompaniment?
NG- yes exactly, a little plain for a birthday cake and a little too sweet for people who don't like sugary sweet things. But I bet if you dressed it with berries or something, it would be quite nice!
