Happy Macaron Day!
We set out for macarons after lunch knowing the occasion, but we definitely missed out on the sponsored macaron walk, which is okay as we wouldn't have had time for it. DSB was the closest place to lunch that we knew had macarons for certain. We were a little taken aback by how expensive they were ($2.50ish), but after taking a bite, they were redeemed. Delicious - creamy, delicate and the flavors, spot on. And while we're no macarons experts, I have to say they're totally comparable to the macarons I had in Paris (Ladurée included) just about a month ago. So why are they not on Serious Eat's top macarons in NYC? It looks like they didn't even get judged last year - so maybe this year.
