It's really nice to read articles about women making a difference in the work force, changing the dynamic of the scene, but I have a feeling it's still going to take another generation before we are taken seriously from the get go. Especially on construction sites. The first day or the initial meeting we are often met with disbelief and it takes some patience to get a contractor understand that indeed, we are the architects and indeed they should address questions about the black iron connection to the concrete slab to us. By the second or third meeting it's all ok, but it always takes a little time to get there.
