This looks far more beautiful than it tastes, though we liked it well enough. As usual with Financier, their "diplomate" is soundly constructed, pleasant and well priced. Le Diplomate, not to be confused with l'ambassadeur, is a French dessert supposedly created by Prime Minister Talleyrand during the Congress of Vienna in 1815. Mostly you can think of it as a French version of bread pudding.
