Papatzul

The only way to describe us walking into Papatzul for the first time is to say it was like we were in a dream having lunch at Lucky Strike, but that it had turned into a Mexican restaurant. Everything else was the same! The proportion of the spaces, the location of the bar, the serving station, the 2 wood steps up into the main dining area, the light from the skylight above, the brick walls, everything. It took us a while to calm down. It didn't help the sense of surrealism that we had an early lunch in an empty dining room. Next time, when we've become accustomed to the mysterious overlap of space, we'll talk about the food.
