No one else at Jack's Wife Freda seemed in the least bit affected by the din and racket, but the loudness of the space made my head hurt. Periodically our conversation lapsed into silence from the sheer effort of speaking so loudly. By the end I was begging M. to hurry up so we could leave because it felt like the space around me was shouting so loudly I couldn't hear my own thoughts. A pity because the very affordable ($13!) steak sandwich and fries was, for me, the perfect bit of steak to have for lunch.
