4:30pm palmier

The guy behind the counter warned us the palmier at City Bakery was a bit too gingery. But it wasn't that it was too gingery, but not enough flakey. The sugar was heavy handed, combined with bits of intense candied ginger catapulted this "palmier" into some other, less pastry, more candied-cookie, realm. Did that sound like we liked it? Because we did.
