I wondered where M. was finding the time to make a blueberry pie and it turns out she staged it over the course of several days. That's a trick we used to use often in our catering days, planning and prepping in phases. We loved constructing menus and thinking about how to make each dish, what could be prepped in advance, what needed to be made or bought the day of the event. Sometimes it takes me a week of prepping to make a dinner for 10, but breaking it down into component parts definitely makes the thing more mangeable.
