My morning routine this week took me past a slew of our treasured west Soho patisseries, including one half block further than I intended to walk - Francois Payard's Bakery. We love his chocolate eclair and may have to put it up against the Lafayette one we had recently, but this morning the strawberry tart called my name loudly and clearly. For such a delicate looking (and tasting) thing, it is hardier than it appears, surviving both the commute and humidity of today. Perfectly delicious.
