La Vie en Szechuan lies in the shadow of the Empire State Building just to the west, it's an odd place. Not K-town and not 5th Ave, it's not exactly on the beaten path. Yet we heard Chinese being spoken all around us and for a moment, I thought I was back in our beloved Chinatown. There is a lunch menu, $7.95 for a soup and entree, and if you get over the first dish listed, General Tso's chicken, and keep scrolling down you get to the more interesting, and quite good, options.
La Vie en Szechuan, 14 E. 33rd St, NY, NY 10016 (btwn 5th Ave and Madison)
