A friend of a friend has an ambitious plan involving the dissemination of a mini version of the canelé, a traditional dessert originating from Bordeaux. But instead of complicating the American mind with a long explanation about what exactly is a canele, let's just call them smack. He brought us a box last night, I easily ate 2 and could have probably had another half dozen they were so delicious and perfectly sized. Right now you can only get them in the D.C. area, unfortunately for us New Yorkers. But if you are in the D.C. area, I highly recommend picking up a batch or two or more.
