Sometimes something has to be taken away from you to realize not to take those you care about for granted. And having a leisurely lunch with dear friends who you don't see nearly enough is a perfect way to set things straight. It also doesn't hurt if the food is pretty tasty. Lotus Blue is an unassuming Chinese restaurant offering modern Yunnan cuisine. Neither of us were familiar with the Yunnan region so we picked two lunch items that had "Yunnan" in the description. The steamed sole and the cumin lamb. We enjoyed both. A good lunch option in the City Hall Tribeca area where it seems difficult to find a casual but non-fast food restaurant.
