In brief: Without having had the real thing, you can't be sure, but putting the potential skill of the baker aside, it is just too sweet
This recipe had been floating around the internet, and it's hard not to resist wanting to recreate one of his desserts, especially one that is so simple. We were taken aback by the amount of butter and sugar, but what the hell, it's Dominique Ansel. But us two are always a little skeptical of sugar quantities as we prefer our sweets on the less sweet side. And our skepticism was not unwarranted. The bread came out beautiful, just like in the photo and the texture luxurious and moist. However the sweetness? Waaaaay tooo sweet and it overpowers the banana! I guess we could say that it is indeed very good, however not to our taste.
