This is a classic cake doughnut that has been featured on our blog many times in the past. We miss it dearly and wish there was an equivalent in the Flatiron. I'd say Carpe Donut is a good contender, however their truck is not dependably in the neighborhood, nor close to where we lunch. Come park yourself close to 5th Avenue again!

If you ever find yourself in Bethesda at the National Institutes of Health their cafeteria has THE best sour cream donuts I have ever eaten. Tender, moist, with just the merest glaze. My mouth waters at the mention. Ann
